Angel Mejia is a Filipino-American photographer based in Los Angeles, specializing in concert and music photography. Her work has been featured in publications such as Tongue Tied Magazine, Square One Magazine, and ZRock'r Magazine, where she also writes show reviews, sharing her insights and capturing the energy of live performances.
Angel's photography style incorporates film grain to achieve a vintage feel, with cool tones—especially blues—that create a timeless aesthetic. She has captured the energy of numerous concerts and music festivals, including performances by Goo Goo Dolls, One OK Rock, Boys Like Girls, Fall Out Boy, Simple Plan, Sum 41, Switchfoot, Lamb of God, Godsmack, Muse, The Offspring, Breaking Benjamin, Trivium, Bullet for My Valentine, and many more.
In addition to international acts, Angel has also covered several OPM (Original Pilipino Music) artists during their U.S. tours, including the legendary Eraserheads and Rivermaya during their 2024 reunion tour, capturing the energy of their performances for overseas Filipino fans alike.
Her passion for photography began in 2010 when she received her first Canon DSLR camera from her sister. She started photographing church events and music practices, and before long, she fell in love with music photography—without even realizing it was a specific genre at the time. In 2020, she reignited her passion by photographing her plants with a Fujifilm X30 Point and Shoot, which led her to rediscover her love for capturing life's special moments.
Today, Angel shoots with a Fujifilm X-T4 and X-H2, covering a wide range of subjects—from intimate gigs to stadium and arena concerts, as well as lifestyle, engagement, family, and maternity portraits. She is also proud to serve as a Live Nation house photographer for Riverside Municipal Auditorium (RMA) and the Fox Theater in Riverside, capturing some of the biggest live events at these iconic venues.
Angel believes that photography is all about storytelling and loves freezing moments full of emotion that allow viewers to relive the experience every time they see the photo.
Her ultimate dream is to become a tour photographer, capturing the raw energy and passion of live music on the road. Her goal is to create photos that reflect the excitement and connection of a live concert experience.
